What is the fastest way to get from the airport to Beijing Zhan.

When I fly into Beijing Sunday I arrive at the airport at 16:30 and I have to catch a train leaving Beijing Zhan at 18:30. Two hours isn't much time. What is the fastest way to get there?
I feel that the new subway from the airport is probably the fastest way to get there. Last time I was in Beijing it was right before the olympics and the airport line hadn't opened yet. Is it open now? How often does it run and will it get me into downtown fast? Also last time I was there the Beijing Zhan subway station was closed down. Has it reopened?

its open. it takes about an hour to get to dongzhimen, and then you can hop on to the loop like to get to beijing zhan. however, if you have lots of luggage, it could be an onerous trip

Were not for traveling on late Sunday taxi could well be faster. If you have checked luggage your luck is mostly out.

Yeah, the timing's gonna be super tight on this one. You're gonna have to go through customs first, then get on the train, then go to the subway....I'd say that it's not looking that good either. And what if the flight's delayed?

I think the subway would be your best shot, since the timing is kind of in the rush hour.
But seriously? it takes 1 hour from the airport to dongzhimen?

it takes about 16-18mins from dongzhimen to airport by new subway.but takes some 20mins waiting for a train. from dongzhimen to beijing zhan about 15mins.

I leave in about 4 hours. I know the timing is tight. If the plane is delayed then I am SOL. I will have to wait till 23:00 and take a slow overnight train instead of a 4hr dong che.
When I was there in July I came in on a Sunday and took a bus to the train station. that time I wasn't taking the train I was just meeting my gf at the train station. If I remember correctly I arrived at the Beijing Zhan about 18:20. That was taking the bus from the airport. I hoped that the subway would be quicker.

that's just if you count time on moving train.
if you fly into Terminal 3, the train first goes on an agonzingly slow trip to Terminal 2. Here's my estimate:
Waiting for train to leave Terminal 3: 8 mins
Train trip to Terminal 2: 7 minutes
Waiting for boarding on Terminal 2: 3 mins
Trip to Sanyuanqiao (first stop): 18 minutes
Waiting at Sanyuanqiao station: 3 mins
Sanyuanqiao to Dongzhimen: 5 mins
= 44 minutes, give or take
