The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

hope y'all got a copy of this historic paper print!

President-elect Obama Victory Speech (Full):

Who would you vote for President?
Barack Obama
70% (60 votes)
John McCain
30% (26 votes)
Total votes: 86

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

Well,, I wouldn't at all be surprised if the yanks went ahead and elected a republican again. Some people tend to never learn from their mistakes. On the other hand,, it's their president so I assume it doesn't matter who 90 percent of the 500 million people in the EU think would be the better choice.

(Brian starts singing)
Stewie : Hey, who sings that song?
Brian: James Taylor.
Stewie: Let's keep it that way.

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

Well, I'm American...and I can tell you that I certainly did not and would not vote for George Bush or McCain.

In fact, the Yanks as you call us did not vote for Bush. The American election is nothing but a sham. The people's vote doesn't truly count. If it did, Bush would have never been elected in the first place. Now this idiot is trying to start World War 3 by placing missiles in Russia's backyard. Sickening! Disgusting!

Pray to God that Obama will win. He's the lesser of two evils. (Unfortunately, the people in power have already chosen McCain, the warmonger)

the scumbag leadership will never allow a black man in office. America is corrupt and evil and one of the most violent countries in the world

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

frankly i see no scenario in which McCain can win at this point.

I don't think McCain is a bad guy but it's a bad time for the republicans and Obama's got the buzz.

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

Obamination is a mindless, Marxist fraud who doesn't have the qualifications to run a popsicle stand, let alone a nation. Let's all hope for the good of America he gets nowhere near the White House. People who say he's got it tied up apparently don't know how to read polls. And of course as we see in this thread already, if you don't support him you'll be labeled a racist.

Obama's speech was a laundry list of vague, socialist ideals. This man couldn't get specific about what he plans to screw up if his life depended on it. America is the greatest country in the world, but will take a serious blow if this moron Obama is put in charge.

You got Blitzered

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

I hope for the worlds sake that Obama will win the election but I'm pretty sure he will not.

Let's vote for the old, military guy who loves guns!

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

If McCain is able to remember his acceptance speech, it will includes many references to his time as a POW. He has beaten that dog to death. Interestingly, though, he has legally blocked his military record from being released. Odd move for a "hero", eh? It turns out that other than getting shot down and captured, he didn't do anything he would want you to know about - graduated at the bottom of his class (like George W Bush), lost 5 airplanes, and got a lot of perks from his old man, the Admiral.

Now he has chosen a beauty pageant winner for a VP mate.

America has already taken a very serious blow from the republican party and Bush/Cheney. We won't fix that by putting a geriatric in office who admits he doesn't know much about economics. Believe him, he doesn't.

Thank God for The United States and it's people. Without them you would not be alive today. The safest fairest country in the world where anyone can become president. Yes so corrupt and violent and evil. You love those aspects of it so much you moved here so you could get even more.

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

No maybe it's a problem that "anyone can become president" - the fact that an unaccomplished empty-suit radical like Obama could become president proves it for sure. This guy's resume is shorter than mine and he's nearly twice as old.

Just like Hillary said, Obama's credentials for the job include a speech he gave in 2002. God help us if this putz gets elected. The good news is that he would only be a one-off Jimmy Carter administration. Then get ready for the face below, a real American who will be president:

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

Blitzer, since you have mentioned some connection between the USG and your little visit here, I suggest you simply prepare yourself to suck a different sausage - you are certainly well practiced. Obama is going to win this election.

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

croozn, since YOU are the one who mentioned some connection between the USG and my so-called 'visit' here, I suggest you shut the hell up. You don't know why I'm here and you never will. So believe whatever fantasies you want about me - heck, that's what you do regarding everything else.

If you could extract yourself from your left-wing bubble, you might find that this election is neck-and-neck in national polls and that McCain has closed the electoral gap as well. And that's all before his VP pick, which will add more independent, conservative and Hillary supporters to his camp. You either aren't paying attention to current events, or you're a political novice. I suspect the latter.

As for the economy and Obama, a few words from someone who's piss has more economic expertise than Obama's entire campaign combined:

Quote:
Despite the incessantly repeated mantra of "change," Barack Obama's politics is as old as the New Deal and he is behind the curve when it comes to today's economy.

Senator Obama's statement that "our economy is in turmoil" is standard stuff on the left and in the mainstream media, which has been dying to use the word "recession."

Not only has the economic slowdown failed to reach the definition of a recession, the most recent data show the U.S. economy growing at a rate exceeding 3 percent-- a rate that many European economies would die for, despite our being constantly urged to imitate those countries whose end results are not as good as ours.

Barack Obama's "change" is a recycling of the kinds of policies and rhetoric of the New Deal that prolonged the Great Depression of the 1930s far beyond the duration of any depression before or since.

These are the same kinds of liberal policies that led to double-digit inflation, double-digit interest rates and rising unemployment during the Carter administration. These are "back to the future" changes to economic disasters that need repeating.

Make no mistake, the political rhetoric of FDR was great. For those who admire political rhetoric, as so many of Barack Obama's supporters seem to, FDR was tops. For those who go by actual results, FDR's track record was abysmal.

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

Uh, you brought up the USG connection, Rush Jr. I actually couldn't care less.

The polls are indeed tight right now. I'm a little surprised by that, but not worried yet.

I've voted for more republicans than you've been alive to see. Not this time, though, No F-ing Way.

And, while a lot of Hilary supporters are certainly women, I believe you'll learn that they are MOSTLY pro-choice women. Oops.

I like Thomas Sowell.

Yet again, you will be proved wrong.

"I" paid for? Dear Blitzer, if you are working for the USG, you will be out of here on the first flight after the inauguration and there won't be a desk waiting for you in Washington.

Note that it was YOUR comment that introduced the USG. I did not. All I said is that you paid for me to be here. You can concoct whatever you'd like from that. And just as you did in the thread from which those quotes were taken, here again you show absolutely no understanding of how the USG works. Do you really think that when an administration changes the entire federal government workforce is replaced worldwide? I know the government is inefficient, but it's not that stupid.

I think you'll learn with Hillary voters that the abortion thing won't matter because a bunch of them are pissed that Obamination is a sexist pig. Nearly a quarter of them so far have decided that they aren't voting for him. That's 4.5 million votes, and the campaign is just heating up. Oops.

I'm surprised you 'like' Sowell. You have a lot to learn from him, like not voting for socialists. Wink

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

As an Obama supporter, you're more focused on soundbites, posturing and fluff than on policy and details, which is why you're obsessed with this one line from McCain about the economy instead of what the candidates have actually proposed they will do.

So, here's an article you should read. It points out how McCain's budget and tax policies would be better for the economy in the long-run. Interestingly, they are similar to JFK's. Despite media fawning, the only similarity between 0bama and JFK is their relative youth while running for president.

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

I can't believe that someone who claims to be a political genius would suggest that McCain's VP pick would give him a bump in the polls. Historically no one votes for the VP. eg. George senior got elected with Danny boy on his ticket and he was universally accepted as a complete idiot.

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

the VP pick is to counter the Obama camp's main attack on McCain, that he's more of the same, no new blood, yadda yadda

If Charlton Heston hadn't died this year he would soon be the right ago to run for president for the republicans. Everybody already know all there is to know about McCain and Obama so I just want to say that electing McCain is going to be a mistake right up there with re-electing GW Bush. We need to see some visions from a country that once was loved but now is seen as a dinosaur.

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

lets face it, behind all the politics.. middle white america just doesn't want to succumb to a black president/commander in chief... african americans were merely "masters'" household slaves a little shy of a century and a half ago... much too sensitive a topic to be discussed these days, but all too evident on this electoral map:

I agree with you completely. If for no more reason than to raise the opinion of the U.S. around the world it would be a good idea to elect Obama. JFK was not a good president but he was seen world wide as vigorous and youthful and bringing fresh ideas to the table(whether he did or didn't this was the attitude). I think the election will be close and Americans are seen as favoring underdogs. There are too many examples of this to list them all, but Jimmy Carter comes to mind. If Obama is elected he will have the toughest job as President of the 43 before him. He will have to please the minorities and appease the majority and he will take many hits from all sides. He will be seen as an Uncle Thom and the N word will be used frequently. I'm just thankful that the U.S. President is not the end all and be all of American politics. He is just a cog in the machine and his policies can be defeated when they are truly bad for the country. Democracy at work. The entire world should embrace it.

Congratulations on being a conventional thinker. Trouble is, this is not a conventional election. The first mixed-race (Obama is not black) nominee is on the ticket and he got there by defeating the first serious female candidate. Many of her supporters are pissed about sexism in the Democrat party and on the left. Some have already pledge support to McCain, and him selecting a woman running mate will probably pull in some more. I'm not condoning support based on identity politics, but that kind of stuff appeals to liberals because they think with their emotions, not their heads. Palin might turn out to be a bad choice if she does something really stupid, or she could end up helping. Yes, most people will decide based on the presidential candidates and not their mates, but given the unprecedented circumstances this time around, I have to believe his pick means more than it usually would.

And as for me claiming to be "a political genius," I would truly love for you to find where I said that.

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

It doesn't really matter who is president when it comes to world opinion of the US. Many will hate us no matter what because we're the best. And in the end it doesn't matter what the rabble of the world think; most world leaders understand the importance of America and will work with her regardless of pinhead left wingers whose goal is to undermine the US.

So the decision should be made based on who will strengthen America, keep it on the right course regarding those things that are right, and correct those things that aren't. Obama is not that person. He will only further the erosion of what has made America great.

You got Blitzered

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

Let's get real, he will be assassinated within a month.

This is America we are talking about.

Re: The Next Face of America: Barack Obama

The Gallup Poll has Obama leading by 6%. Virtual dead heat, though Obama did gain a little in the last few days.

I think the Dems will find a way to lose this, they are getting really good at it.

Prepare for a 72 year old Bush-clone president who has a stroke in office and hands the world over to a beauty queen who was once mayor of a town with the population of one block of Chaoyang.

“...what is it exactly that the VP does every day? ... We want to make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans... Quote: Sarah Palin, July 2008.

Fruitful for Alaskans? Well, let's all hope so, that's what really matters.

There is no such thing as a typical American. It is what makes the country so great. The world is just jealous of the U.S. Wait until China is the number one country in the world people will be jealous of it and hate it just as they do the U.S. now.
