well, it depends on the guy's style, i think.
If only strangers, meet the first time, i should say, the first impression is very important, both for man and woman. I said the first impression is not only means his/her face, body, but also his/her behavior.
But for someone you chatted for sometime, you can judge what his style is, then it's up to you.

I think it depend on what the guy looking for, if just friends, no worry about the look. If found gf, the look will be judged at first sign, except the guy is too old or strange. ^&^

For me personally, the first impression is not so much about the look, but how confident the person is.

One of my close friends used to have beautiful long hair. One day she got tired of taking care of it and decided to shave it all off. It was her hair and her choice. She was happy and did not care what people thought about it. She was approached and asked out all the time. I think she sports a bob now. She was and still is beautiful, not because of the hair.

People do different things for different reasons. Going by just what you wrote in your post, you equate shaving your head with being bold and then post a link to a website about fashion. You appear to be very self-concious about your looks/actions. If you are not comfortable with your decision to shave your hair, how can you expect others to be?

To be honest, yes looks are important to me. Sorry. I'm talking about "all things being equal". So if I have to choose between an ugly girl who has the same personality as a pretty girl, of course I'll choose the pretty girl. The question is what do you do when the choice is between an ugly girl with a good personality vs. a pretty girl with a bad personality. Then the question is how pretty vs. how ugly and how "good" vs. how "bad". But in the "all things being equal", obviously 'tis better to be pretty rather than ugly. Superficial, yes, I know... blah blah blah...

It's a package deal though. Looks are just one component, but they influence the overall score. Also, yes, guys will judge on looks because you may be a great person, but they don't know that without talking to you for a while and getting to know you. However, they've made up their mind about where you rank in terms of looks in less than one second. Life's hard. Then again, I'm sure girls also care about how guys look. And also whether or not they're dressed like a beggar or driving a Ferrari. I'm sure all those things enter their thought process at some point as well.

I think the personality is more important! If you really love someone,you won't mind his or her looks,I think that is true love!

I'm sure that it is a factor at the beginning, but everyone has a different view on beauty. Those that are too obcessed with it are immature/not ready for a relationship (which isn't a bad thing). On the other hand, people become more beautiful the more you get to know them, so beauty is more important after for most people.

looks definitely matter. Thats what men get attracted to. Women don't necessarily get attracted to looks... e.g. power, money, rock-stardom. And sometimes personality. But in rare cases.

To be blunt and candid, yes, we do care the look at all, and only when there is a look, then things might advance.
