When it comes to a certain kind of high-class club, that particular hip-yet-moneyed feel, it’s time to admit that Beijing is better off letting the waidiren come in and take care of business. Originally a Guangzhou venture, Babyface has spread to a handful of Chinese cities, and now the capital. It is made by and for people who clearly take clubbing very seriously, and amateur partygoers may find themselves out of their depth and in the wild. That said, this is a professional, well-designed joint with a staff and decor that can hold their own against club standards in other countries. Welcome to the future of Beijing nightclubs. Feb 05
